The Nomads endeavor to do everything possible to attract attention of college coaches to our event. This Thanksgiving Tournament will be our 20th Anniversary. Over the years we have built strong relationships with colleges across the country, including most Ivy League schools.
ROSTER BOOK - All teams that participate in our tournament have the option to submit a roster (online through the team application form) that will be printed in a book we give to College Coaches that attend the tournament. This book is highly sought after by the Colleges and we do our best to ensure your most up to date roster is included. Please mark your calendar to ensure your team has its roster updated and ready to print no later than November 10th for the Thanksgiving Tournament and March 10th for the March Coaches Showcase Tournament.
COLLEGE COACHES TENT - We will have tents set-up at the UCSD Fields 1-4 (NCR UCSD Campus fields) to greet the coaches as they arrive. Feel free to deliver to the tent an materials that you wish for us to provide the college coaches. Please note that this tent is exposed to the elements and it is difficult to control papers if they are not contained in a box or something, best provide a box or envelope to keep paperwork dry and clean. You should bring at least 150 copies. If you want to personally address an envelope to a particular coach that is attending we will gladly collect those at Team Check-in Thanksgiving night and ensure when that coach checks in that they get your package. Any leftover materials must be picked up no later than 6pm on Saturday night.
PLAYER PROFILES - The Nomads have developed in partnership with Demosphere International a software program that allows players to purchase a $25 profile. The profile is linked to game schedules, team pages and rosters. Therefore, if a college coach knows you are in the tournament he can look up your three games and see your profile easily. Profiles can be purchased at any time and will be held in our system for up to 12 months. They are linked to a particular tournament so if you attend both tournaments in November and March you will need to purchase a second profile as the databases are tied to a particular event. When entering your information in to the profile it is important that you do not use the back button on your browser as this can cause your credit card to get charged twice. If this happens please contact us. Example Because the profiles are linked to the game schedules players will be able to enter a profile but not edit it again until the schedules are public, which is usually 2 weeks prior to kickoff, therefore, it is important that your player be well prepared when entering the profile for the first time.
COLLEGE COACH CONTACTS - at the link to the left of this page we have listed the college coaches that have RSVPd for our event, this list is updated on a regular basis. It is important that you not rely on the coaches to find you by themselves but more that you be proactive and leave messages and emails for that coach at their school - information they will need are as follows:

These are the 3 main questions they will ask before anything else. Some schools have minimum GPA’s in order to even consider you for a spot on their team.
GUEST PLAYERS - If you are a player that does not have a team to play on, we do have teams looking for players. Most teams get intense about finding players 3-4 weeks before the tournament.
