Boys Program

Up until recently the United States had two organizations that Competitive Clubs registered their players to, both equally positioned on the organization structure of US Soccer, they are US Youth Soccer (CalSouth is a member organization of USYS) and US Club Soccer.  Some clubs choose to dual register their players with both organizations. National team scouting is done through each organizations ID programs: US Club Soccer’s ID2 program, and USYS’s ODP program.

In the Summer of 2007 the Nomads became one of the first 11 clubs to join a program developed as an extension of the US Men’s National Team Program -  US Soccer’s  Development Academy program.  The following information is a brief explanation of our plan for develping our players to prepare them for our Academy teams:

The Top - Nomads Boys U16-U18 Academy Teams

Full-time Academy players are registered only with US Soccer and not with CalSouth (USYS) or US Club Soccer.

US Soccer develops a game schedule that concentrates on "Quality not Quantity" of games each year with games in regions and 3 showcases each year.  Playing for the Academy requires 5-6 out of town trips each year.  Emphasis is on more training and less games.

Full-time Academy players are not permitted to play outside of the Academy schedule without permission from US Soccer and practice 3 times a week.

US Soccer’s showcase events draw college coaches who are scouting for players and National team scouts.

Nomads Boys U13-15 Pre-Academy

Nomads BU13-15 players are registered with CalSouth and US Club Soccer and will compete in the Presidio Soccer League in the Fall of 2009.  Players selected from these teams to train and/or guest play with the Academy U16-U18 teams will be dual registered as Development Players.  Development players play a maximum of 6 games with the Academy teams. Pre-Academy coaching staff will assist in conducting Academy training sessions so that continuity of curriculumn and mission is maintained to prepare players for Academy teams.  Also, coaching staff will travel with the Academy teams to out of town games and attend any educational events held by US Soccer to further their education in order to prepare these young players for the next level of play.

Nomads Club teams U8-U12

Nomads BU8-U12 are registered only with USYS (CalSouth) and will compete in the Presidio Soccer League in the Fall of 2009 and observe and learn from watching Academy games and practice sessions.  Club coaching staff will assist in conducting Academy training sessions so that continuity of curriculumn and mission is maintained to prepare players for the Pre-Academy.

The Bottom - Nomads Little Strikers U6-U7

Nomads Little Strikers train once a week and do not play in competitive leagues.  A foundation is being formed with basic ball control, building self confidence and a love for the game.
